Pro Pitcher Camps
Train like a Pro @ Rip City!

Former college standout Mike Huller was drafted out of George Mason University by the San Francisco Giants in 1998, and he will team up with Coach Douglas Arguello who was drafted by the Houston Astros straight out of high school from Latin America! They have each been providing technical instruction to little leagues, high school players & collegiate athletes since ending pro ball. They have united to put together their collective and pro experience into the Pro Pitching Program!

Youth & High School players will go through extensive mechanical analysis to promote healthy arm action with increased velocity. Athletes will become regimented on exercises and techniques to train the scapular stabilizers as well as the rotator cuff. The significance of the core & legs will also be a focal point for the Pro Pitching Program.

The 8-week camp provides highly technical instruction, but also focuses exceptional time on strength, flexibility & conditioning. No detail is too small, and the specific warm up program coupled with functional strength training would be enough to separate your athlete from his peers. However, each camper will also receive robust mechanical instruction including involved discussion on the appropriate grips based off their age and natural arm slots to promote natural movement.

Enrollment also affords each pitcher a complimentary Pitcher-Club pass for the duration of the camp. On their days off from camp, pitchers are afforded complimentary indoor access to follow their detailed & prescriptive off-day drills designed by the Professional Pitcher staff. Campers can leverage this benefit any day, however, cages are also booked on specific off dates of camp for pitching camp clients!

Pro Catcher Camp

Rip City is excited to announce its partnership with former pro player, Jason Bour! A high school standout, Bour played collegiately for Hampden-Sydney and then George Mason University before being drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and finishing his career with the Chicago White Sox. Bour has played alongside and against some of the biggest names in major league baseball and was chosen to participate in the Arizona Fall league in 2011 where organizations top prospects go to play. In recent years, he has been training and coaching in North Carolina.

Coach Bour will lead a six week pro style catcher camp series that will be challenging for intermediate to advanced players. The first three weeks will focus on receiving, blocking, footwork, bunt defense, and passed ball recovery with no throwing until December. Several advanced skills and drills will be introduced and mastered by each camper over the course of the six week camp. He will also teach the mental aspects of the game from pitch calling to working with pitchers and managing games.

Bour has been a primary catcher from little league to double A in the minor leagues. Combined with coaching travel teams and working with catchers on an individual basis, he has over 20 years of catching knowledge. Players will be split into two separate ability groups while Bour and Varsity HS Coaches teach technique and introduce drill series.

The instruction will be led by Coach Andy Kiriakedes who went directly into coaching following his D1 collegiate playing career. He’s coached at three separate colleges where he has been responsible for overseeing the development of infielders both offensively and defensively. He also has experience coaching in both Prague and Puerto Rico. He finished his coaching career at William & Mary with a Regular Season Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) Championship, a CAA Conference Tournament Championship, and Charlottesville Regional Finals appearance.
