High School & Middle School Pitching Academy

Nov 19, 2023 – Feb 23, 2024
Mondays & Wednesdays OR Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:15-7:30 pm
$275 Per Month

Our academy program provides technical instruction, but also focuses exceptional time on age appropriate strength, flexibility & conditioning. Our pitching academy is part of our technical instructional series and led by former college coaches and/or former professional pitchers.

The month of November includes emphasis on exercises and techniques to train the scapular stabilizers as well as the rotator cuff. In addition, pitcher specific strength training & conditioning with increased emphasis on core & legs will be a key component.

Academy enrollment fee includes initial enrollment of $275 to RSVP + Dec, Jan & February monthly fee is also required, which includes all of the aforementioned from November, and throwing commences with a gradual ramp up in December. This camp molds smart & seasoned pitching coaches with new school technology. The college and MLB caliber technology measures the impact of spin on every ball; it shows the actual flight of a pitched baseball and calculates the corresponding trajectory of the same pitch without any spin.

The overall goal is to increase pitcher’s velocity in the strike zone while avoiding arm injuries. Additionally, ensuring each pitcher has a dynamic secondary pitch is a key part of the pitching academy programming.

Youth Pitching Academy (9u-12u)

Jan 1, 2024 – March 12, 2024
Mondays & Wednesdays OR Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:00-6:15 pm
$250 Per Month

Our academy program provides technical instruction, but also focuses exceptional time on age appropriate strength, flexibility & conditioning. Our pitching academy is part of our technical instructional series and led by former college coaches and/or former professional pitchers.

The first couple weeks put emphasis on exercises and techniques to train the scapular stabilizers as well as the rotator cuff. In addition, pitcher specific strength training & conditioning with increased emphasis on core & legs will be a key component.

Academy enrollment fee includes initial enrollment of $250 to RSVP + February & march monthly fee is also required, which includes all of the aforementioned. Throwing commences the second week of January with a gradual ramp up each subsequent week. Youth players are strategically not put on an elevated mound until February! This camp molds smart & seasoned pitching coaches with new school technology. The college and MLB caliber technology measures the impact of spin on every ball; it shows the actual flight of a pitched baseball and calculates the corresponding trajectory of the same pitch without any spin. Let your youth player benefit from the same technology the elite high school age + college players are using!

The overall goal is to increase pitcher’s velocity in the strike zone while avoiding arm injuries, commonly referred to as “Little League Elbow.” Additionally, the camp goal is to ensure each youth pitcher is introduced a safe secondary pitch!

Catching

Rip City is excited to offer small group training opportunities to train with former pro player, Jason Bour! A high school standout, Bour played collegiately for Hampden-Sydney and then George Mason University before being drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and finishing his career with the Chicago White Sox. (Mondays or Tuesdays).

Our Wednesday sessions will be led by Coach George Rosales who was a standout All-Region and All-State catcher in high school. His accolades followed him throughout his D1 catching career where he was named to the First Team All North East Conference!

They will lead a four week pro style catcher camp series that will be challenging for intermediate to advanced players. Several advanced skills and drills will be introduced and mastered by each camper over the course of the four week camp. The mental aspects of the game from pitch calling to working with pitchers and managing games will also be a key part of instruction, particularly for older players.
